چکیده
Introduction: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) and subsequent end-stage renal (ESRD) are public health problems worldwide, their prevalence is increasing worldwide. Abnormalities in calcium phosphorus common that need to be considered alongside other important factors when choosing a dialysis method. Hence, the present study aimed assess compare homeostasis ESRD patients on hemodialysis peritoneal (PD). Methods: In this descriptive cross-sectional study, 150 with PD department of Imam Reza hospital Tabriz University were selected randomly. The serum levels calcium, phosphorus, intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) before initiation one year afterward for comparison. Results: group, 33.1% female 66.9% male but sex distribution was 47% males 53% females. Following dialysis, mean (Ca), (P), iPTH significantly higher group compared (P<0.05). Also, Ca×P product undergoing (P=0.05). Conclusion: Our findings suggested increase prolonged rather than PD, rate after year.

Comparison of arterial stiffness in end‑stage renal disease patients treated with peritoneal dialysis or hemodialysis.
INTRODUCTION Dialysis patients presents increased arterial stiffness. Results of available studies comparing arterial stiffness in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients vs hemodialysis (HD) patients are inconsistent. OBJECTIVES The aim of the study was to compare pulse wave velocity (PWV) in PD and HD patients and to compare value of measured PWV (PWV(M)) with theoretical value of this parameter ...
متن کاملComparison of Marital Satisfaction in Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis Patients
Alternative kidney treatments, including renal transplantation, hemodialysis (HD), and peritoneal dialysis (PD), are administered when severe kidney failure occurs and the kidney can no longer function. The present study compares different dimensions of marital satisfaction in HD and PD patients so as to assist physicians and patients in choosing their appropriate treatment. This cross-se...
متن کاملComparison of dementia risk between end stage renal disease patients with hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis - a population based study
A higher risk of dementia was reported in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis (HD) compared to those undergoing peritoneal dialysis (PD). Selection bias and competing risk of death were not considered in previous studies. The aim of this study was to investigate dementia risk in patients undergoing HD and PD by using the Taiwan Longitudinal Health Insurance Database. We enrolled 52,332...
متن کاملEpidemiological Characteristics and Causes of End-stage Renal Disease in Hemodialysis Patients
Background and aims: Hemodialysis (HD) is considered as the main method of renal replacement therapy (RRT) for end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients in many countries including Iran. Given the limited number of epidemiological studies in this regard at the provincial level across the country, the present study aimed to describe the demographic and clinical characteristics of ESRD patie...
متن کاملPLATELET AGGREGATION IN THE END-STAGE RENAL DISEASE – DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PATIENTS TREATED WITH HEMODIALYSIS and PERITONEAL DIALYSIS
End-stage renal disease patients (ESRD) suffer from procoagulant abnormalities that lead to excessive cardiovascular events, as well as from platelet dysfunction manifesting as an increased risk of bleeding. The exact pathogenesis of complex hemostatic disorders in ESRD patients is not completely understood. The aim of our study was to investigate the possible different effects of hemodialysis ...
